First of all, this is my first post in a very long time, if not ever. I thank the group for the many, many posts ok knowledgeable pilots that helped me get to flying and repairing my own Tcraft N96548.
I am going to order a sheet of 1/4” x 48” x 96” VHMW for aircraft skis from McMaster-Carr. (It was the only place I can find large enough piece to get full length pieces from for skis.) VHMW is about the same as UHMW, except it is made to be used outside. As luck would have it, cheaper, and I can not see a negative over the UHMW. If anyone would like some pieces from what I do not use, I will cut to size you want and ship at shared cost of sheet and shipping. (McMaster does not offer cutting services as I had hoped to save on shipping.)
