Oh My! where to post this?

It seems that Taylorcraft.com is showing some signs of life.
    http://www.taylorcraft.com/

It is a bit unsettling that the lead-in header photo is a Russian Antonov AN-2 but at least the next three are actually Taylorcrafts.

Common guys! we need Rumors! and Gossip! and Random Speculation!
It is probably too much to hope for any factual information...

Skip, hate to tell you but the site has been like that for quite some time.

The reason you don't hear of any gossip or rumors is there are none. I have posted here and there on this forum some contact with a factory rep I had way over a year ago but no one will respond from the factory at all anymore. Last heard they were having problems getting FAA approval for parts , let alone airplanes. Forrest has not said a peep about the factory for a year or two.

Someone recently has been trying to sell the factory demo plane, (the red one in the pictures), but it is a paperwork nightmare that may never be able to be fixed.

Why would the TCDS holder jump off a cliff with the data? There must be a reason. I'd like to hear a simple explanation and am aware of some of the drama that's been discussed here.

        Thanks Marty.

You're right, I don't look there very often. I keep hoping, though. I think that I can make most anything that I need as an owner produced part, but I just hate seeing Taylorcraft and all its lovely approved data in such limbo.

        Maybe someday...

          Re: Taylorcraft.com showing some life

Well Gary, perhaps the only individual on this forum who might have a better inkling than anyone else has decided to either keep us in the dark, doesn't care, doesn't have the time for us or prefers to keep it a secret to feel important. Then again, he may not know either. Every time he stated he would share it with us he preferred not to. The current owners of Taylorcraft are not, from my understanding, from around here. I am not sure what they are doing, the last information that could be confirmed was they were not successful in obtaining PMA.

I had asked the all-powerful moderators to re-open the Factory part of the thread but they either missed my request or didn't care to do so. So, my posts are all over the place on information I had regarding the Factory.

Here is one thread and a five year plan, (back in 2012), that Taylorcraft had presented to Aviation Consumer. Read some of the comments carefully and you will be able to understand my frustration with a person who supposedly has, or had, information about Taylorcraft but refuses to share.

There is other information on this forum, as well as the internet, but I really don't have the time to search around for it. I doubt we will ever get THE answer as to what happened or what is going on with the owners of Taylorcraft.
          Cheers,
          Marty

Thank you Marty for the helpful answer. I'd done some searching here prior to posting so am somewhat informed, but still confused. Surely the love of the Taylorcraft could overcome personal behavior but then that's not mine to judge. All I can hope for is continued fun flying in mine and options like owner built parts to keep it airworthy.

Marty, you need to ask Admin., of which I am not, if that was aimed at me. In any case, I certainly missed the request if it was asked in open conversation.

                Re: Taylorcraft.com showing some life

                Hi Rob,

It was in open conversation on a Factory topic aimed at anyone who could open the factory topic, not just you. I was hoping one of you guys who had the power to do so would pick up on it since there have been several conversations by Forum members regarding the Factory. I figured one of the 1,991 views would have been someone who could open the thread or start one. I guess it was overlooked by the moderators/Admin., whomever Admin. is. Now all those conversations are in-the-wind so to speak.

See it here on one of the threads I started: http://vb.taylorcraft.org/showthread...hlight=factory

Since I am not a moderator or administrator, or whatever, for any kind of forum I am unsure as to who has what 'power' to do so. I know you have the ability to change peoples spellings, punctuation, paragraphing, etc. Plus you ARE the Ambassador of Taylorcraftness and I am just a mere Taylorcrafter.

Fair enough, Marty. I note that you posted that 22 Sept 2014...I would have been buried down some narrow slot canyon in Utah at the time! Not that it's an excuse.

I'll ask Bob Ollerton to open the Factory sub-forum, he's the Admin for this site. I'm just a lowly moderator, and the title below my name was bestowed upon me by him and Forrest...I've never had the heart to change it.

                  Take care,

                  Best Regards,
                  Rob

                      Hi Rob,

Like I said, not sure what the capabilities are for you guys so I just threw it out there.

I am not sure if opening a Factory thread would be worth the time and trouble as most of the info out there is out there in various threads. Since there has been absolutely no movement or information on the Factory of late, and Forrest has refused to comment with information he alleges to have direct from the Factory, it would be a moot point. Up to you but thank you for addressing it.
                      Cheers,
                      Marty

The Factory sub-forum is open (and appears to have been for some time). It's located within Humour, Rants & Raves.

Perhaps, Hank. And how not easily found. I recall it being its own thread and locked.

I called and emailed the "factory" last week, no email response (they bounced back) and phone out of service.

Then I called the FAA/ECO office and talked with the engineer that has Taylorcraft as his responsibility.

He said they have no intent to orphan the TC and were not likely to share the drawing for the B model axle stub that I sought.

He also said he thinks the FAA does have drawings but will not share them without an ok from the TC holder.

There was no encouraging sign that the factory will get going anytime soon either.

He did encourage me to get a PMA for the part based on "unlicensed indenticality" that is done all the time. He explained how and gave me some reference material. I started and have made some progress. He explained that it is a quick process can take a month.
